It’s time for a pep talk, and we have one coming up. Sister Helen Prejean, author of “Dead Man Walking” and tireless crusader against the death penalty and for liberal causes, will address us Friday, May 3, at 6: 30. “I can’t wait to meet the St Tammany Democrats,” she told NDWC member Liz Scott. “I would talk to you in a Popeye’s parking lot.” She won’t have to. We’ve arranged for her to speak to us at Faith Bible Church on the corner of Tyler and Columbia in downtown Covington. Sister Helen, by the way, contributed two recipes to the NDWC Cookbook for the Hungry.

  1. Great speaker! She epitomizes compassion. Thank you Sister Helen for taking time out of your very busy schedule to talk to the Democrats on the northshore.
